Spaceworks partnered with realestate.co.nz to transform their Auckland workplace into a flexible environment that better supports collaboration, hybrid working, and client engagement.
The refurbishment reimagined the existing tenancy to align with how the business operates today while strengthening the expression of the brand within the space. The result is a workplace that balances focus, collaboration, and social connection while presenting a confident and contemporary face to clients and visitors.

Client Challenge
As one of New Zealand’s leading digital property platforms, Realestate.co.nz required a workplace that reflected their position as an innovative, data-driven technology business while better supporting the day-to-day needs of their team.
Their existing office no longer aligned with how the business operated. Meeting spaces were limited, the boardroom was undersized, and the open workspace lacked areas for focused work. The environment did not fully showcase the brand to visiting clients, nor did it provide the flexibility required for a team split between office-based and remote work.
The project presented an opportunity to transform the workplace into a space that could strengthen team connection, support growth, and create a destination employees were proud to work in.
Design Response
Spaceworks re-planned the workplace to centre around a multi-functional hub that acts as the social and cultural heart of the business.
Positioned at the front of the tenancy, this arrival and presentation space establishes a strong first impression while providing flexibility for daily use, team gatherings, and client events.
The wider workplace was carefully zoned to support a variety of work styles. Dedicated quiet areas provide space for focused work and calls, while open workstations and informal meeting areas encourage collaboration. Flexible touchdown spaces support remote staff who move between home and office.
Meeting rooms were expanded and repositioned to better support both internal collaboration and client engagement, while the boardroom was redesigned to comfortably accommodate larger groups.
Throughout the space, the material palette balances warmth and professionalism, using natural textures, neutral tones, and soft furnishings to create a calm and welcoming environment.

Supporting Team Performance and Flexibility
A key priority was ensuring the workplace could adapt as the business evolves.
Flexible work settings allow teams to move easily between collaboration and focused work.
The central hub plays an important role in bringing people together, supporting everything from daily interaction to larger team presentations and client hosting.
Storage, lockers, and touchdown spaces were carefully planned to support hybrid work patterns, ensuring the space functions efficiently regardless of daily occupancy levels.
