Lucino
Spaceworks completes the design of Lucino’s showrooms at Residium in Auckland and the Home Ideas Centre in Christchurch.
Led by Spaceworks designer Lauren Gibbs, these showrooms were designed to inspire and showcase the versatility of Lucino stone products, enabling visitors to imagine these stunning elements within their own spaces.
Lucino stone is renowned for its perfect blend of natural and man-made elements, delivering exceptional durability and a luxurious finish. With the original brief being to create a showroom that would not only display Lucino’s large range of premium stone vanities but also inspire creativity and personalisation. Visitors are encouraged to mix and match various options, such as fixtures, mirrors, and lighting allowing for an outcome unique for them.
Lauren Gibbs pushed the boundaries of traditional showroom design, opting for playful layers of tone and materiality to infuse into the space allowing for a wonderful balance of softness and depth to eventuate. The resulting vibrant environment sees the understated luxury of Lucino’s products is on full display, allowing customers to easily envision these elements in their own homes.
The showroom’s layout was strategically programmed to serve different functions, balancing the mass volume of products with open spaces for reflection and exploration. The long, rectangular space presented a unique challenge with two central poles, which Lauren cleverly transformed into “totems” to enhance the design rather than hinder movement.
Playful fixtures were used to guide visitors through the showroom, encouraging natural flow toward the back corner. Whilst various layers of lighting have been designed in to bring atmospheric and personality to each of the vignette moments. Lighting here brings the entire space to life while at the same time highlighting the beauty of Lucino’s products.
The result is a stunning showroom that exceeds expectations, leaving Lucino super happy with the final result. The space successfully showcases the full potential of Lucino’s stone vanities, allowing customers to engage with and be inspired by the wide range of options available. This innovative design formula was duplicated for Lucino’s other showroom in Christchurch.
